Jackets Lose Catcher in Play at Tyler

Jake InmonCatcher Jake Inmon is out indefinitely after being hit in the face by a ball taking a bad hop on a throw from 3rd baseman JD DeLoach during play on Saturday at the Tyler Rose Classic tournament.

 

Inmon has multiple face fractures and his return this season is uncertain. Sophomore Adam Dingwell was moved into the catching spot to close out the tournament.


The Jackets went 1-2 in the Rose City Classic Tournament. Rockwall defeated Shreveport Byrd 11-3 in the first game on Saturday, but dropped the second game of the doubleheader, 12-7, to a strong hitting Nacogdoches team.

 

Kilgore High School defeated the Rockwall 6-4 on Thursday that saw the Jackets relinquish two unearned runs on throwing errors and breaking a 4-4 tie.

 

Rockwall will be back in action on Thursday at 2:30pm when they play Mesquite Horn in the first game of the Mesquite ISD Invitational Tournament at Mesquite's Tillery Field.
