The Rockwall Yellowjackets shutout Dallas Christian on Monday 7-0 on a no-hitter by Junior Travis Ballew.

Ballew recorded 7 strikeouts and 3 walks. He faced 22 batters in the 6 inning contest that was stopped in bottom of the 7th inning due to lightning.

The Chargers best opportunity for a hit came in the bottom of the 1st when shortstop Corey Brooks hit a short fly ball into left field. Just when the ball looked like it would fall to the ground, leftfielder Richard Parson made the diving catch.

Dallas Christian threatened to score in the 2nd inning when Ballew walked the two leadoff hitters. He came back with a strikeout, a ground ball back to the mound, and a second strikeout to close out the inning.

The Yellowjackets offense recorded 12 hits in the game. Parson gave Rockwall the only run needed in the 2nd inning with a leadoff Home Run. Rockwall scored 2 more in the 3rd inning, 2 in the 4th, and 1 in the 7th.

Catcher Jake Inmon had the hot bat going 3-4 while 1st baseman Garrett Henderson was 2-3 with a walk.

The win puts Rockwall a game over .500 for the season at 6-5. The Yellowjackets face 10-5A district rival Rowlett on Tuesday at Rowlett at 4pm. The Eagles come into the game at 14-0.
