On a windy Tuesday evening, March 25th 2008, Travis Ballew and the Rockwall Yellowjackets were perfect. Rockwall defeated district 10-5A opponent North Garland 14-0. In the abbreviated 5 inning game, Ballew faced 15 North Garland batters and sent 13 back to the bench on strikeouts. No batter reached base as Ballew gave up no walks and the Rockwall defense committed no errors. Beginning with the 5th North Garland batter of the game, Ballew struckout every Raider that approached the plate. The Rockwall offense was busy pounding out 11 hits. The Yellowjackets scored 3 runs in the 1st inning on singles by JD DeLoach and Ryan Harris. Jonny Bertrand delivered a double, the first of two hits for him on the night in two atbats. In the 3rd inning with the score 4-0, the Rockwall offense hammered 4 more runs across the plate led by 2nd baseman Michael Hatcher's 3-run blast over the leftfield fence. In the 4th, the Yellowjackets put 6 runs on the board including Home Runs by shortstop Bertrand and pinch hitter Tim Parish. Leftfielder Troy Grant and pinch hitter Cody Fields added hits.
